Faulkner: “Yes we buyour own lots. But some fami- lies purchase their own lots andwe are happyto build on their lot or ours.” BVM: Do you also have design services? Faulkner: “We do not.For the veryhigh-end custom homes that we build,the verybest architectural and designwork is required andwe feel this is done best byoutside firms.We onlyworkwith award-winning designers who have both the experience and the staff to handle a home like ours. Same for architects—while we workwith different firms,earlyonwe partnered withDavid Stocker of shmarchitects,as he allowed us to create distinctlycustomdesigned homes on every project,which is exactlywhat we wanted in our initial portfolio. Of course,we are happytoworkwith any architect or designer a couple is engagedwith,we just didn’t want to be a design/build firmas we don’t feel
