Business View Magazine Feb 2023

2 BUSINESS VIEW MAGAZINE VOLUME 10, ISSUE 2 EDI TOR ’ S NOTES With a view to a new fiscal quarter, Business View Magazine sat down with a variety of thriving businesses of varying sizes for this month’s issue along with city officials from towns, cities, and counties across the US and Canada. With the goal of bringing you the latest in cutting edge business savvy news in addition to a front- row seat into the plans that dynamic regions across the continent are implementing, Business View Magazine and Business View Civil and Municipal continue to give our valued readers an in-depth look into the current business trends and municipal news as we enter the second month of 2023. The month of February may be marked by love and romance with Valentine’s Day at the top of the mind of many. As Valentine’s celebrations ramp up for many, the businesses that we interviewed for this issue focus their efforts on another common goal; continued productivity. Although business prospects remain robust, it may not all be roses as we move into February with supply chain issues still affecting many companies and skilled employee shortages touching every business sector. Despite these ongoing challenges, embracing the opportunity for continued growth and sustainable business practices remains a top priority for all the companies we had the privilege to interview. Transportation issues affecting both the trucking industry as well as the public transportation sector took center stage in this month’s issue. We spoke with representatives from the Greater Richmond Transport Authority, People Mover, and Powersource Transportation about what is on their agenda for the upcoming months. For each of the organizations the common theme of putting safety first, increasing ridership and route expansion as well as a move towards environmentally friendly business practices were priorities they held in common. From transportation to town, city, and county agendas, Business View Civil and Municipal interviewed Auburndale, Desert Hot Springs, California, Danville, Kentucky, Ravenna, Ohio, and Portsmouth, Virginia among others to gain some insight into some of their top priorities. With a host of infrastructure projects in the pipeline, environmentally sustainable city and county initiatives, dynamic infrastructure projects, and a focus on their valued residents, all of those we profiled are looking to grow and welcome new residents. Not to be overlooked, the real estate market and custom home design demands are holding strong in the first quarter of 2023. For Legacy Realty, Fraser Homes, and Spruce Homes, meeting design expectations and navigating the hard-to-predict housing market are all in a day’s work. With a view to the latest in design options for their clients and unlimited housing options to offer interested buyers, all three companies expect the housing market to continue to prosper along with their businesses that have proven to be fully prepared to meet the anticipated housing demand. As with every issue, my hope as editor is that our valued readers continue to learn something with every new article and come away with a positive business view.
